Marine Department Pleasure Vessel Operator Vision Test Certificate

Local Vessel (Captain) Eye Test Certificate

This center provides vision testing services for operators of pleasure vessels of the Marine Department and vision testing services for local vessels (captains). We are dedicated to providing recreational boat operators or local vessel (captains) with vision test certificates so you can sail with peace of mind.

According to the regulations of the Marine Department, vessel operators must pass a vision test to obtain or renew a "vision test certificate" for a seafarer's license. Tests include distance, intermediate and near vision, as well as color vision tests and more. If you are accustomed to wearing glasses when operating a boat, you can bring them with you for testing.

The "Vision Test Certificate" is valid for two years and can only be signed by a registered optometrist (Part I or Part II) or a registered Western medicine practitioner. The optometrist will conduct an eye examination and vision assessment of the pleasure vessel operator based on the vision standards in the "Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificate of Competency Examination Rules" issued by the Marine Department, and issue a "Vision Test Certificate - Pleasure Vessel Operator ”. For local vessels (captains), an eye examination and vision assessment will be conducted based on the vision standards in the "Local Certificate of Competency Examination Rules" issued by the Marine Department, and the "Vision Test Certificate - Local Vessels (Captains)" will be completed.
